David Archuleta is one of several well-known Latino singers to be featured on the Spanish version of “We are the World.” He’s in great company.
Emilio and Gloria Estefan have adapted “We are the World” into the Spanish language. Entitled “Somos el Mundo,” the song is being recorded in Miami today. Joining David in the recording studio are Banda El Recodo, Carlos Santana, Chayanne, and Gloria Estefan, among others.
Quincy Jones and the Estefans are partnering with Univision to produce and distribute the track next month for the benefit of earthquake victims in Haiti. The David Archuleta fandom will be abuzz upon the release of “Somos el Mundo,” and we hope it will be a huge success and a great help to Haiti. Kudos to all those involved in this charitable effort!
