Songs As I write my latest installment for ‘The Song of the Week,’ it is Valentine’s Day. So I was wondering what song I should choose to write about this week. I thought about so many of David’s songs. He sings love ballads so beautifully. The fact is, I am absolutely ‘in love’ with all of David Archuleta’s music! So what should I choose? Well, I finally decided to share one song in particular with all of you. I believe that this may be my favorite song from David so far.

The Song of the Week is…

“You Can”

The song “You Can” was written by Antonina Armato and Tim James for David’s self-titled début album, released by JIVE Records in November of 2008. The song is about letting that special someone know that they are the one and only true love in your life. It is a beautiful ballad and a perfect song for David’s voice. He sings it with so much feeling and emotion, that honestly I am left speechless every time I hear it.

It was a little less than a year ago that I first heard David sing “You Can” live at a show in Northampton, MA, on March 2, 2009. I will never forget the powerful way he touched all of us that night. He is such an amazing performer and hearing him sing this just blew me away! Here is video from that performance:
