Secret Word Game
News Flash! We have a WINNER!
The Winner is robin711! And the phrase is “opening act”. The winning post occurred yesterday April 25. Congratulations, robin711! I’ll be contacting her personally soon to get her prizes in the mail!
Isn’t it so perfect that a fan named “Robin” wins in the month of April?!! The robin is the American ‘early bird’ and its cheery song is a most welcome sound of springtime. Kudos to robin711!!
The traditional etymology of the word “April” is from the Latin aperire, “to open,” alluding to the season when trees and flowers begin to open. April is a prelude, setting the stage for springtime and warming up for the next act, summertime. So, it seems appropriate that David Archuleta is the opening act — the warm-up performance — setting the stage for McFly on their tour of the United Kingdom.
I hope you’ll enjoy using the phrase “opening act” in your posts in the remaining days left in April.
