Definitely consider this rumor for now. There is someone on Twitter with connections to the telethon who says there’s a chance that David will be performing…

Disneylover13: JUST HEARD THAT DAVID ARCHULETA WILL BE SINGING PRAYER FOR THE CHILDREN FOR HOPE FOR HAITI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Disneylover13: @wicklessscents friend of my mom’s is working on the event in LA that’s where David will be—she saw Prayer for the Children next to his name

Even if he doesn’t get to sing, there will be a lot of people tuning in just for the chance to see him at the phones. His presence alone will help raise monies for the cause.

Still Young… after all these years! Is David Archuleta really as young as he appears in this photo? He had just turned 18 years of age when this picture was taken. But there’s something else in his wonderful face—something fans readily see while others might see only the surface: the fresh face, the beaming smile. Those of us who are fans, who follow the latest news from dabuzzing, attend his concerts, maybe even meet him in person, and listen to his albums, we see something deeper than the outer layer. We see a musical “soul man” whose talent is for the ages. It’s the Voice that soars and flies into our hearts. This young-looking young man has the voice of an angel.

Hope for Haiti Telethon is HUGE!

George Clooney and Wyclef Jean are organizing the largest charitable effort ever. “Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief” airs Friday at 8 p.m. ET/PT and 7 p.m. CT on MTV and many other networks. All proceeds from the telecast will be shared among five relief organizations actively operating in Haiti: Oxfam America, Partners in Health, the Red Cross, UNICEF and Wyclef’s Yele Haiti foundation.

The telethon is attracting the A-list, the Who’s Who in film, television, music, and public service. Mega-stars like Tom Hanks, Brad Pitt, Robert Pattinson, Will Smith, Julia Roberts, Leonardo DiCaprio, Meryl Streep, Muhammad Ali, and former president Bill Clinton have joined.

According to some sources, Madonna will join musicians such as Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Jay-Z, the Jonas Brothers, David Archuleta, and many more acts.

Many more celebrities have pledged their support and promised to take part in the telethon, including Tim Allen, David Archuleta, Alec Baldwin, Kristin Chenoweth, Sacha Baron Cohen, Cindy Crawford, Vanessa Hudgens, the Jonas Brothers, John Krasinski, Jack Nicholson, Charlize Theron, and Ashley Tisdale.

“Hope for Haiti Now” musical performances will be available for purchase and download at iTunes, Amazon.com, and Rhapsody for the benefit of Haiti relief funds.

Here’s hoping Haiti will get all the support necessary! AND, selfishly, I hope to hear David Archuleta sing! If David’s voice is included in the The “Hope for Haiti Now” CD, surely more funds will be added to the coffers.

(However, David has been tweeting that he has a throat problem and sounds like a frog, so he might not sing.)

David Archuleta – Angels & Waiting For Yesterday – Portsmouth England

Last April 2009 a friend and I went to England to see David Archuleta in concert in Portsmouth and in London, England.   He opened for the British rock group McFly, and the fans went crazy for David.  A few weeks prior to the trip we had the opportunity to see David and we informed him we were booking the trip.  He thought that was really cool but he was concerned how he would be accepted there, as his album was not out in the UK yet and he wasn’t sure anyone knew him.  HaHa!  Little did he know that they were waiting for him.

We managed to wedge through the line waiting for him and McFly and was lucky enough to get right up against the stage.  The room was so crowded that we could hardly move, let alone videotape his performances.  It was a rare opportunity and gift that we shared with David and the smile on his face when he saw us was a moment to remember.  As he was opening for someone else in a foreign country we were the only two American fans at that particular concert.  In London many fans showed up, Americans, Germans, Italians and the list goes on.

When David sang “Angels” it was especially exciting since English musician Robbie Williams originally recorded the song. All the British fans knew the lyrics and they sang along.   “Waiting For Yesterday” also got the crowd going from the start and David really was in top form.

Since it might be a slow week for David news, I thought we might all enjoy this special treat from England.  Please excuse the jerky motion as we were being bumped into during the entire videotaping.
