Jake Shimabukuro says, “The ukulele is the instrument of peace.” And this week at the TED conference in Long Beach, he gave a demonstration. It’s off-topic for DA Buzzing, but I think Queen’s magnum opus deserves some buzz, especially when it is played like this!

Jake Shimabukuro, the thirty-something year old Japanese-American ukulele player from Hawaii, played his version of “Bohemian Rhapsody” at the TED conference in Long Beach this week.

A Girl Can Dream I know all of you David Archuleta fans will appreciate this photo. I enjoy decorating my dining table for all the seasons and holidays, and I often take photos of the table. When I read minja’s “RSVP about house concerts” and pikepss’ post about hoping for a new Valentine greeting, I started to dream about my Valentine’s table. Imagining David sitting there! In my house!

Photo of this week is Virtual David Archuleta in my house!

This is so funny on so many levels, how and where do I start! In the car this morning when David Archuleta sent this over Twitter, I nearly drove off the freeway laughing my head off. Someone needs to document all of his twitters in a book and publish them. Amazon.com surely would have gigantic sales increase just selling this book. Perhaps, after his memoir, Chords of Strength, is released someone could start working on gathering and documenting all of them or just the best ones. Haha! How would you decide which ones were better? “Hush Cats” or maybe the “The Chipmunk” ones or the random melodies he has in his head, such as singing “Stormy Weather.”

David is more entertaining than watching “Comedy Central”! Pure comedy comes from life’s experiences and there is nothing funnier than David experiencing life! Haha!

David Archuleta’s “Heaven” Among Unplugged Ode on American Idol Last Night

Jim Cantiello from MTV News is a great admirer of David Archuleta and his talent, so it doesn’t surprise me that he always finds a way to mention him whenever he can.  His  review of American Idol last night is pretty much on the mark and describes the events in a humorous manner, including the judges’ responses to many of the contestants.  Jim, we love you!

Jim Cantiello on Hollywood Week

HIGHLIGHT

The big breakout performance, however, was Andrew Garcia’s aforementioned “Straight Up,” an unplugged ode to Paula Abdul that will go down with David Archuleta’s “Heaven” and Matt Giraud’s “Georgia On My Mind” as one of the most memorable Hollywood Week performances ever. No wonder Kara had an AndrewGasm. “That was genius! Genius! Paula would be screaming and yelling and clapping and dancing.” Well yes, Kara, but she also does all that when one of her Chihuahuas uses a wee wee pad successfully.
